Honest Maids does post construction cleaning in Lake Balboa. We are family owned and based in Reseda, and this is the clean that happens after the trades have packed up and before anyone can actually live in the space. It is not a deep clean and it is not a move in clean. Construction dust is finer than household dust, it is still airborne when the last van pulls away, and it keeps settling for days. That is why the work is done in passes rather than in one heroic visit.
The remodeling here has a particular shape, because the housing does. Lake Balboa was built out as postwar tracts between the late 1940s and the early 1960s, so most of what gets worked on is a seventy year old single story ranch on a flat five to eight thousand square foot lot. That produces a predictable set of jobs: kitchens opened up and rebuilt, bathrooms taken back to the studs, second story additions dropped onto a one story footprint, garages converted into ADUs or rented studios, and original single pane aluminum windows swapped for dual pane units, which brings stucco patching outside and drywall work inside.
The old bones create the specific problems. Ducting from the original build has floor and wall registers that swallow drywall dust and then blow it back out the first time the system runs, so registers and returns get vacuumed rather than wiped. Textured ceilings shed if they are handled wrong. Aluminum slider tracks fill with grit and joint compound. And because these lots are flat and open, with the Sepulveda Basin to the south and Van Nuys Airport to the east, wind pushes site dust back in through the openings the crew left, which is another reason one pass is never enough.
Our cleaners are our own trained employees, and they come with commercial vacuums and everything else the job needs. The estimate is free and written, no card is needed to book, and if a walkthrough turns up dust we missed we come back and take it out.
Signed, the Honest Maids crew.
