A warm, bright home interior showing the kind of clean Honest Maids delivers in Sherman Oaks

Sherman Oaks sits in the south east corner of the San Fernando Valley, where the 101 and the 405 cross, and Ventura Boulevard runs the full width of it as the main spine. That one boulevard splits the area into two different places. South of it the ground climbs into the Santa Monica Mountains, and streets such as Valley Vista Boulevard, Longridge Avenue, and Woodcliff Road wind up toward Mulholland Drive, with houses on sloped lots, several levels, and a lot of glass facing the canyon. North of it the Valley floor is flat and gridded, running through Moorpark Street, Riverside Drive, Magnolia Boulevard, and Burbank Boulevard, with single story homes on square lots and a dense band of apartments and condos along Kester Avenue, Hazeltine Avenue, Van Nuys Boulevard, and Woodman Avenue.

The area was laid out in the 1920s and filled in properly after the war, so most of the older housing stock here dates from the 1940s through the 1960s. That shows up in the work: original tile and grout in the bathrooms, small hardworking kitchens, window and closet tracks that hold grit, and appliances that have seen decades. At the same time plenty of those homes have been remodeled or replaced outright, and the boulevard itself carries newer condo buildings, offices, and storefronts. We are based just west in Reseda, so getting to either half of Sherman Oaks is a short local drive rather than a trip across town, and we plan each visit around the actual property instead of a fixed block of hours.

Signed, the Honest Maids crew.

Local detail

What cleaning in Sherman Oaks actually involves

Which side of Ventura Boulevard you are on changes the job more than anything else here. Up on the hill roads the homes tend to be spread over two or three levels, with several bathrooms, long stair runs, and big spans of glass that catch canyon dust, so the visit runs longer and often starts with a deep clean before a regular rhythm can hold it. Down on the flat to the north, the single story homes built through the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s clean on a much more predictable pattern, and the apartment and condo blocks around Hazeltine Avenue, Kester Avenue, and Woodman Avenue lean toward recurring visits and move out cleans at the end of a lease.

Getting to the front door is worth a sentence when you book, because it varies block by block. A hillside address may have a steep shared driveway, a gate, and a street with no legal parking anywhere near it. A condo on Ventura Boulevard usually means a call box, a garage with a clearance limit, and a building that prefers vendors use a service entrance. A house on the flat grid is normally just a driveway and a front door. So we ask about the gate code, the parking, and the building rules while we are booking, rather than on the morning we arrive.

The age of the housing stock shapes the work too. Original bathroom tile and grout, painted cabinets that show every mark, aluminum window and slider tracks that hold years of grit, and older ovens all take real time rather than a quick pass, and we build that into the estimate instead of discovering it on the day. Whatever the property, our own trained employees do the cleaning, we never hand it to subcontractors, we bring every supply and machine with us, and every visit carries a satisfaction guarantee.

Good to know

Cleaning in Sherman Oaks, answered

Do you serve all of Sherman Oaks?

Yes, both halves of it. That takes in the hillside streets south of Ventura Boulevard climbing toward Mulholland Drive, the boulevard corridor itself, and the flat grid north of it out through Magnolia Boulevard and Burbank Boulevard. We are based just west in Reseda, so most of Sherman Oaks is a short drive for us. If your address sits near the Encino, Van Nuys, or Studio City line and you are not sure which it counts as, text it to us and we will confirm.

Which service do most Sherman Oaks homes start with?

It depends on the property. Larger houses on the hill roads usually open with a deep clean, because more square footage, more bathrooms, and more glass mean more buildup than a first standard visit can handle. Homes and apartments on the flat to the north more often start on a recurring schedule, or with a move out clean at the end of a lease. Once we know the place, we will tell you which one you actually need.

Can you reach a hillside house with a steep driveway or tight parking?

Yes. Many of the roads running up from Beverly Glen Boulevard, Coldwater Canyon Avenue, and Valley Vista Boulevard are narrow, curved, and short on legal parking, and some homes only have a sloped driveway or a carport. Tell us at booking what the arrival looks like, including any gate code or call box, and we plan the visit around it rather than leaving the crew circling with the equipment.

Do you clean apartments and condos north of Ventura Boulevard?

Yes, from studios up to three bedroom units. A lot of that stock along Dickens Street, Hazeltine Avenue, Kester Avenue, and Woodman Avenue dates from the middle of the last century, with gated entries, shared garages, and their own rules about which door a vendor uses. Send us the building name and anything the manager expects, and we work inside it.

Do you clean offices and businesses along Ventura Boulevard?

Yes. Commercial cleaning is one of our two main lines alongside house cleaning, and we fit the work around your hours, before you open, after you close, or over a weekend. The Ventura Boulevard corridor carries most of the business space in Sherman Oaks, from ground floor suites and storefronts to the larger multi tenant buildings near the Sepulveda Boulevard end, and that is the kind of space we keep on schedule across the Valley.

Do you handle homes that are being remodeled?

Yes. A great deal of Sherman Oaks is being rebuilt in place, with older single story homes being gutted, added onto, or replaced, and garages turned into separate units. Post construction cleaning is a different job from a house clean, done in passes because fine drywall dust settles again after the first sweep, and we scope it that way.

How much does cleaning cost in Sherman Oaks?

It comes down to the size of the space, the service you choose, and how often you want it. A compact apartment on a standard clean sits at the lower end, while a large hillside home, or any first deep clean, takes a good deal more time. Every estimate is free and agreed before anything is booked, so the figure is settled well before we arrive and no card is needed to hold the slot.

How do I book a cleaning in Sherman Oaks?

Send a text or call (818) 414-8012, or email honestmaidsla@gmail.com. We ask a few questions about the property and the clean you want, send a free written estimate, and set a date. Our hours are Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and a message outside those hours is answered the next working morning.
